The Volunteer Inn is a family run, seventeenth century pub located in the heart of Lyme Regis. Our fantastic, character filled establishment is headed by Becky who tries to keep the heart of Lyme Regis right here in the pub by employing people local and passionate about Lyme Regis.
The Volunteer Inn is located on Broad Street, the gorgeous high street of Lyme Regis and is OF COURSE within walking distance from the beach. Perfect to escape to for a coastal plod and burn off those tasty calories after our regionally famous Sunday roasts.
We source all our ingredients for their mouth-watering Sunday roasts from local butchers, bakeries, and farms. Whether it’s a juicy joint of pork with the crispiest crackling on top or a succulent piece of topside beef that takes your fancy with a dollop of English mustard on the side, The Volunteer Inn has more than you could ask for!
Behind the bar has been by no means overlooked either. Becky makes sure she selects special guest local ales to supplement ales from companies such as Dartmoor Brewery, The Exeter Brewery Ltd or a classically British, Timothy Taylor Landlord. You’ll have to make sure you’re as regular as can be to make sure you get to sample everyone The Volunteer Inn has to offer.
As if The Volunteer Inn couldn’t get any better for what you require of a traditional British pub, we’ve only gone and refurbished ALL our rooms above the pub, perfect for rolling back to after an evening of indulging in food and beverages. Each one of these rooms is equipped with gorgeous en-suites and are available for a minimum booking of one night.
